SACRAMENTO, California, April 25 -- Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-California, issued the following news release on April 24, 2024:

With the Arizona Supreme Court allowing an 1864 near-total abortion ban to take effect, women in Arizona will soon be left without access to abortion care across the state.
