WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 -- Social Security Works issued the following statement by Alex Lawson, Executive Director, on the Senate passing a budget on a party line vote:
"Nearly every Republican in the Senate just voted for a budget that calls for cutting $1 trillion from Medicaid and $470 billion from Medicare. They want to use these cuts to pay for massive tax giveaways to their billionaire donors and giant corporations.
