SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., June 26 -- California Polytechnic State University issued the following news release:
Cal Poly's concrete canoe team -- and its canoe named Meraki -- was named the national champion at the American Society of Civil Engineers Concrete Canoe Competition, held June 17-19 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.
The national title included a $5,000 award.
