DES MOINES, Iowa, Oct. 30 -- The Iowa Lottery issued the following news release:
Today, during the sendoff for Detachment 2, 1168th Transportation Company of the Iowa National Guard, Governor Chet Culver will announce that the Iowa Lottery has transferred nearly $1 million to the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. The money marked the lottery's first quarterly transfer to the fund, which is designed to help Iowa veterans and their families.
