ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 21 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Minnesota Agricultural Statistics office issued the following press release:
Lake Region: There were 66,000 hired workers on farms in the Lake Region (Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin) the week of October 12-18, 2008, according to the USDA, NASS, Minnesota Field Office. Farm operators paid their hired workers an average wage rate of $11.49 per hour during the October 2008 survey week, up 19 cents from October 2007. . . .
