TRENTON, N.J., Oct. 15 -- The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development issued the following news release:
Employment in New Jersey contracted by 3,900 jobs in September and the state's 5.8 percent unemployment rate in September was slightly lower than the prior month's rate of 5.9 percent. The state's unemployment rate remained below the U.S. rate, which was unchanged in September at 6.1 percent.
