MACOMB, Ill., April 19 -- Western Illinois University issued the following news release:
The Western Illinois University defense held the offense out of the end zone but still lost 27-24 in the annual spring football scrimmage.
With a modified scoring system which awarded the offense for first downs and the defense for stopping drives, the outcome of the game came down to the last play.
