JUNEAU, Alaska, Sept. 30 -- Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, has issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, veterans and active-duty military are integrated into Alaska's economy and social foundation and whenever called upon to defend our nation's security at home or abroad, the men and women who serve in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and National Guard and Reserves have responded immediately and effectively, placing national interests above their own.
