TIKRIT, Iraq, Aug. 14 -- The U.S. Army 1st Armored Division issued the following news release:
Coalition engineers unearthed a large munitions cache in the Salah ad Din Province near the city of Tikrit Aug. 9.
Intelligence sources led Soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, (Air Assault), to a cache site, consisting of 620 mortar rounds, 160 fuses and 40 pounds of propellants. The munitions were containerized in military wooded munitions . . .
