WEST POINT, N.Y., Oct. 24 -- United States Military at West Point issued the following news release:
The U.S. Military Academy appointed Col. Daisie D. Boettner Permanent Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering in a ceremony here on Monday, Oct. 20.
Boettner is the first female from Tennessee to graduate from West Point and the first female appointed as a permanent professor in the disciplines of mathematics, science and engin . . .
