NEW YORK, Oct. 30 -- The New York City Fire Department issued the following press release:

Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta, the Fire Safety Education Unit and the FDNY Foundation will be on hand at the Hilton in Times Square tomorrow to remind New Yorkers and fifth graders from Holy Cross School to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when they change their clocks back to Eastern Standard Time before bed Saturday.
