ST. PAUL, Minn., March 24 -- Minnesota State Rep. Kent Eken, DFL-District 2A, issued the following news release:
Minnesota is facing a one billion dollar budget deficit and the state constitution requires us to have a balanced budget at the end of the two-year budget cycle on June 30, 2009. The governor has proposed we do this through cuts to nursing homes and other long term care, cuts to our colleges and universities, payment shifts to schools that are in debt, and with one time . . .
