COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Oct. 17 -- Texas A&M University issued the following news release:
The George Bush Presidential Library Foundation announced that Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates will receive the 2007 George Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Reed Arena. Former President George Bush will present the award to the career intelligence officer, who will join former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl . . .
