BEIJING, Aug. 13 -- The U.S. Army Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Office issued the following news release:

At age 56, U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Elizabeth "Libby" Callahan became the oldest U.S. female competitor in Olympic history with a 25th-place finish in the women's 25-meter pistol shooting event Aug. 13 at the Beijing Shooting Range Hall.
