WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 -- The U.S. Agency for International Development issued the following newsletter:
Sens. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) and Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) said July 15 they will seek to triple development aid to Pakistan to a total of $7.5 billion over the next five years.
The two leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said they worked closely with the State Department and USAID to draft the bill and believe it would be signed by President Bush.
