LOS ANGELES, Calif., Aug. 15 -- The University of California at Los Angeles issued the following press release:
"Los Angeles at the Beginning and Today," an exhibit that juxtaposes paintings based on historical photographs with contemporary photos of the same locations or themes, will be on view at the UCLA Powell Library from Aug. 18 through Sept. 12.
The contemporary photos were taken by Stone Ishimaru, a second-generation Japanese America born in El Ce . . .
