Cuellar Secures $1M to Benefit STC Child Development Center
MCALLEN, Texas, Aug. 18 -- South Texas College issued the following news release: Congressman Henry Cuellar, TX-28, was joined by educational and community leaders on Aug. 12, when he presented a check for more than $1 million in grant funds to South Texas College. The funds, which will be dispersed over the course of four years at $250,000 a year, will benefit the college's Child Development Center and its efforts to provide affordable, campus-based child care to low income STC students.   more

SALEM, Ore., Aug. 18 -- The Oregon Department of Human Services issued the following news release: This summer, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released the 2009 error rates for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly the Food Stamp program. The national payment error rate for 2009 was the lowest in the program's history, but Oregon's rate was even lower.
