MONTGOMERY, Ala., Oct. 20 -- Alabama Attorney General Steve T. Marshall issued the following news release:
Attorney General Steve Marshall announced that Charles Henderson, who was elected District Attorney of Jefferson County last fall, was today convicted of first-degree perjury, a felony, which renders him ineligible to hold the office. Due to his indictment in January, Henderson was barred from assuming the office pending the outcome of his criminal trial.
