CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 17 -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools issued the following news:
J. M. Alexander Middle School celebrated the dedication of a replacement school on Oct. 17 with the presentation of the American flag and the North Carolina Flag. Appropriately, the date of May 20, 1775 is on the North Carolina flag since John McKnitt Alexander, for whom the school is names, was a signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration on that same date.
The new 54-classroom building was . . .
