State Seeks Public Input on Environmental Permits for Duke Energy's Belews Creek Plant

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 18 -- The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality issued the following news release:

State environmental officials are asking the public to weigh in on draft proposed water quality permits for Duke Energy's Belews Creek Steam Station.

The Stokes County facility is required to obtain National Pollution Discharge Elimination System, or NPDES, permits to discharge wastewater and stormwater to the Dan River, Belews Lake and Charlie's Pond . . .
