AUGUSTA, Maine, Aug. 17 -- The Maine Republican Party issued the following statement by Chairman Richard Bennett on immigration reform:
"The United States of America has always been a beacon of hope and a safe harbor for the downtrodden and those who suffer under tyranny. Sadly, we are increasingly seeing this promise dashed by Washington politicians and their inability to fix a broken immigration system.
