Business Roundtable Statement on President Obama's Speech on the Economy

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 -- The Business Roundtable issued the following news release:
"While we support tax incentives to accelerate business investment and expand, simplify and make permanent the tax credit for research, we do not support raising taxes on U.S. companies to offset the cost of these new economic proposals. The new taxes would negate the intended effects of these new policies.
"In the current economic environment, companies are acting cautiously . . .
