NEW DELHI, India, April 26 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution:
Several steps are being taken to provide sufficient and safe storage space to prevent wastage of food grains during the ensuing procurement season. These include hiring of additional capacity of 28.54 lakh tonnes by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) during the period 1.4.2009 to 1.3.2010 and hiring of another 3.3 lakh tonn . . .
