World Bank Reforms Voting Power, Gets $86 Billion Boost

WASHINGTON, April 25 -- World Bank issued the following news release:

The 186 countries that own the World Bank Group today endorsed boosting its capital by more than $86 billion and giving developing countries more influence, implementing historic changes to position the poverty fighting institution for the transformed world emerging from the global crisis.

Along with this first general capital increase for the World Bank for more than 20 years and shift in voting . . .
