LA MESA, Calif., June 29 -- The city of La Mesa issued the following news release:
The La Mesa Police Department conducted a DUI and Driver License checkpoint in the 4500 block of 70th Street on Saturday, June 28, 2008. The checkpoint was operational for six (6) hours.
909 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint. 70 drivers were taken into the secondary inspection area which resulted in 8 of those drivers being further evaluated for driving under the influence of a . . .
