Esther Ross Howard Pevarnik '64 subscribes to the philosophy of poet Maya Angelou, who believes we should go through life with baseball mitts on, ready to catch whatever comes our way.
Pevarnik, California University's 2007 Distinguished Alumna of the Year, said that is how she lived as a student at then- California State College. She has continued to keep those mitt . . .
