Nineteenth century writer Emily Dickinson devoted her life to poetry in a day when most women were lucky to know how to sign their names. A rebel and recluse, Dickinson today is known as one of America's most celebrated poets, a writer of keen wit, with powerful skills of observation and a uniquely quirky view of the world.
