CALIFORNIA, Pa., Oct. 17 -- California University of Pennsylvania issued the following news release:
A little more than a year after dedicating a residence hall in memory of the University's first African-American graduate, Cal U President Angelo Armenti, Jr. proclaimed Oct. 9 as Jennie Carter Day and unveiled a permanent marker to be placed on her grave.
