BERKELEY, Calif., Nov. 21 -- The University of California at Berkeley issued the following press release:
Frederick Sherman, professor emeritus of mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and an expert on the dynamics of high-speed airflow in the upper atmosphere, has died at the age of 80.
Sherman died of respiratory failure after a battle with prostate cancer at the Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, Calif., on Monday, Oct. 27.
