WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation issued the following press release:
As part of ongoing Safety of Dams work at Folsom Reservoir, the Bureau of Reclamation will modify Mormon Island Auxiliary Dam (MIAD), also known as Dike 8, to reduce hydrologic (flooding), seismic (earthquake), and static (seepage) risks. Reclamation, the lead Federal agency under the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency . . .
