WATERVILLE, Maine, Feb. 19 -- Waterville Public Schools issued the following news release:
Waterville Public Schools has withdrawn from talks about consolidating area school systems into a single large district after determining city taxpayers will likely pay more for education no matter how that district is organized.
Members of the Waterville Board of Education decided Feb. 11 to withdraw from talks over formation of a "Regional School Unit (RSU)" potent . . .
