JUNEAU, Alaska, Oct. 29 -- The Alaska Department of Education & Early Development issued the following news release:
The State Board of Education & Early Development, meeting by teleconference on October 27, 2008, approved waivers for 28 school districts from a state requirement that districts budget at least 70 percent of their operating funds for instruction.
Districts that cannot comply with the law are allowed to seek waivers from the State Board. Waiver . . .
