BATON ROUGE, La., June 18 -- The Louisiana State University Ag Center issued the following news release:
The Durand rice and crawfish farm in St. Martin Parish has realized considerable savings by converting diesel pumps to electric units.
Jeff Durand, who farms with brothers C.J. and Greg, said an energy audit conducted at the farm determined they could realize a 58 percent savings, assuming a diesel price of $2.50 a gallon, by converting all pumps on the farm to e . . .
